At Spirit Bird we walk with the goddesses - not as distant myths, but as living presences and sacred companions on the path of remembrance. We work primarily with Celtic goddesses each aligned with one of the 13 archetypes of the sacred feminine in our Medicine Wheel. These goddesses are not just symbols - they are portals into elemental wisdom, ancestral memory, and the deep feminine mysteries.
The four goddesses who anchor the circle are Brigid in the East, The Morrigan in the South, Danú in the West, and Cailleach in the North. Each one carries a unique form of medicine - seasonal, elemental, spiritual, and ancestral. They invite you into relationship as guides, challengers, and companions on your path. If you journey with us, you’ll meet many more, but the Wheel begins here.
Firekeeper - Healer -
Muse of New Beginnings
Brigid stands at the gateway of dawn and Spring. She is the sacred spark of new beginnings - the flame of inspiration, healing, poetry, and forge. Her fire is not harsh, but creative and life giving. She teaches us to tend the inner flame, to protect our emerging gifts, and to walk with the quiet courage it takes to begin again.
Shapeshifter - Truth teller -
Initiator of Power
The Morrigan walks at the edge of transformation. Fierce and unflinching, she is the guardian of death and rebirth, shadow and sovereignty. She appears as crow, battle queen, and prophecy. She asks not for comfort, but for courage. When you meet her, you meet your power and everything that stands in its way.
River Mother - Source of Abundance - Great Nurturer
Danú is the source that flows through all things. She is the original wellspring, the ancestral waters, the fertile earth, the breath of creation. She teaches us to receive, to be nourished, to rest in the fullness of what has been grown. With her, we gather the harvest, drink deeply, and remember we are already held.
Bone Mother - Stone Keeper -
Weaver of Endings
Cailleach is the ancient one - keeper of bone, mountain, and time. She is the wild wise one who shapes the land and strips away illusion. Her gifts are deep rest, stark truth, and the fierce grace of release. Her love is not sentimental; it is existential forged in the long winters of the soul. To walk with her is to be stripped bare and remade.
